Righteous by Joe Ide (Mini Review)

More IQ! The young African-American PI from East Long Beach. This time he takes on The Triade in Vegas to help a young woman who has been threatened by a loan shark.  And he continues to try to track down his brother’s killer. Ide adds more depth to IQ and other characters we met in his first book. He also adds some new villains and allies. Several good mysteries/ puzzles for IQ to solve.

I recommend you start with the first book in the series, which is simply entitled IQ.  I have to say that Ide is a writer who excels at the Venn diagram of fiction (I just made that up): Plot, Setting, Character. He connects the three so well in each of his books. If you’re looking for a new mystery series, this is a good one!

Also, his next IQ novel Wrecked will be released on Oct 9th. I’ll definitely be getting it.
